Table Tennis
Beginning as a Victorian parlour game in the late nineteenth century, table tennis is now an official Olympic sport and a popular recreational activity world wide. Table tennis is a bat and ball sport played between two or four opponents using a ping pong ball and a small wooden racket across a table that is divided by a low net. The objective of the game is similar to outdoor tennis and badminton but there are some significant variations in rules, points and techniques between table tennis and other racket sports.
Objective of the game
The objective of the game is to hit the ball over the net which divides the table and to be the first to reach 11 points with a two point lead. The winner is the player to win more than half the games in a match. The number of games played can vary but it is most common to play to the best of a five or a seven game match.
